I love Restaurant.com and regularly use them to keep our eating out budget in check. When you only have $100 for eating out, you need to make it stretch as far as you can! Keep in mind that Restaurant.com gift certificates are often more like coupons than gift certificates. The $25 gift certificates are usually good on $35 purchases, but that still means you could have a $35 restaurant meal for about $12 (the $2 for the certificate and the $10 difference between $25 and $35). Please make sure you read the fine print before you make your purchase!
I can’t believe that it’s almost the end of February and this is my first “Menu Plan Monday” post of the year. Shame on me! This year has been full of busyness and craziness…I’ve actually had over 3 weeks worth of nights where I’ve stayed somewhere other than home! But…those are just excuses. During the other 3+ weeks where I have been at home, I haven’t done a great job of planning meals and eating at home. So I’ve decided to get back to menu planning. It’s amazing to me how expensive eating out is…and most of the time, it’s not as good as a home cooked meal! I could go on and on about the benefits of menu planning (and I’m sure that I will at some point), but I’m sure you’d much rather read about what we’re eating at our house this week!
Monday - Italian Chicken and rice
Tuesday – Pot roast and veggies
Wednesday – Sandwiches or leftovers
Thursday – Baked Ziti (I’ll post this recipe soon…it’s so yummy)
Friday – Homemade Pizza

This morning we headed to the mall for our Free Auntie Anne’s Pretzel. My husband dropped us off at the door of Sears and by the time he had parked the car and come inside, we had managed to spot quite a few things on the clearance racks. We decided to wait until after we got our pretzels to do our shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our pretzels and then we headed back into Sears to pick up some clothes for the girls. I knew that the Sears Friends and Family sale is on Sunday, February 21st and normally I would wait (especially since we’re probably going to head in again Sunday night during the Friends and Family sale to pick up a water softener), but since the girls found cute stuff at great prices, we let them each pick a few things. We ended up with a lot of stuff for under $60. I even found a few tops for me…each of them were under $3.

I’m so excited to share that AdoptUsKids will be hosting another Twitter party. I am passionate about seeing children connected with families who will love them and nurture them.
Last year AdoptUsKids hosted two adoption chats on Twitter. As a result, some Twitter users actually made the decision to move forward with the adoption process.

African-American children are overrepresented in the foster care populationrelative to their percentage in the U.S. general population. Because of this, African American children often wait longer to be adopted.

Thank you for being so patient in my lack of posting. During the Disney Social Media Moms Conference, I barely had time to sleep, let alone blog. (Although I did quite a bit of tweeting…so you can follow me on Twitter.) Once the conference was over, we moved to another hotel and the internet has been slow as molasses. I think there are dialup lines that get faster service. We are flying home tomorrow Orlando to Norfolk, VA to BWI to Indianapolis….and then we’ll make the drive home. Needless to say, tomorrow is going to be another L.O.N.G. day! I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you checking in…even when I don’t have new content. I promise I’ll be back to posting deals (or at least something of interest) by Wednesday.
